Total Commitment To Fraser Ross In The Australian GT Championship
Total Oil Australia is proud to announce their new sponsorship partnership with the highly regarded driver Fraser Ross and his new McLaren 650S GT3, competing in the 2017 CAMS Australian GT Championship.
Fraser will be starting a new chapter in his racing career at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, March 2 - 5, debuting the TOTAL Oil Australia backed McLaren 650S GT3. Prominent Total branding will take centre stage on the dynamic lines of the McLaren with Ross’s race suit and helmet also receiving Total branding.
“It’s an amazing feeling to have the support of a renowned global lubricant brand such as Total; what they represent in the automotive industry is massive and for them to put their faith in me is huge. It’s a very proud moment for me to represent Total Lubricants in Australia with McLaren and I look forward to the challenge of achieving success,” said Fraser.
Having Total Lubricants involved in the esteemed Australian GT championship underscores Total Oil Australia’s commitment to the Australian automotive lubricant market. “Total is synonymous with Motorsport around the world and partnering with a talented driver like Fraser Ross in an incredible car like the McLaren 650S in the ever growing GT Championship was a great opportunity for Total Oil Australia,” said Andrew Murchie, Total Oil Australia Managing Director.
“Both the GT Championship and McLaren are prestigious organisations, aligning well with our commercial and branding objectives as we continue to grow our footprint locally.” Fraser is determined to ensure his Total Oil Australia McLaren will be at the pointy end of the field and is quietly confident the McLaren will prove competitive combined with his raw speed and driving resume.
Starting in go-karts, Fraser immediately jumped from 8 horsepower to 580hp and a 1968 Ford Mustang. After two state championships and many lap records, Fraser stepped up to the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge category where in 2014, he dominated the series, resulting in a sought after scholarship in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia for 2015/16. “I’ve raced at all the tracks and know them like the back of my hand. We aren’t going there to make up the numbers; we’re there to try for race wins from the get go,” said Fraser. To see Fraser and the TOTAL Oil Australia McLaren 650S GT3 on track, keep an eye out for the upcoming Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide, March 2-5.

TOTAL Touring Car Masters Car Profile – XY Love
As proud sponsor and official lubricant partner of the Touring Car Masters, TOTAL Oil Australia is excited to be involved in the hugely popular series. As part of our involvement, we are unveiling the TOTAL TCM Car Profile series. Every month we will be chatting to the owners and drivers of these amazing machines to find out what makes them so special.

“I’ve had two of these,” said Mercer, who is competing in his sixth series of TCM.
“I started out in an old HO that we bought off eBay and modified. Two years ago I decided to build a new one which is lighter and improved all round, despite looking identical to the old car. I built it myself, even though I’m a home builder by trade,” he said.
The majority of the mechanical work and development is done by Wayne, although he does have some help as he explained......
